Terms of use
Effective date: 24 October 2026
These terms cover the Culprit app and findculprit.com. By downloading or using Culprit you agree to them. They are short on purpose: please read them.
Who we are
Culprit is made by Blureon Labs (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@findculprit.com.
Your licence to use Culprit
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Culprit on Macs you own or control, under these terms. Culprit stays ours; you get the right to use it, not ownership of it.
You may not resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute Culprit or Culprit Pro licence keys, or reverse engineer Culprit except where the law allows it.
The beta
The beta is free. Because it is a beta, it may have bugs, change, or stop working, and some features may become part of Culprit Pro after the beta. The core answer, what is making your Mac hot, slow or full, stays free.
Culprit is read-only
Culprit only reads and reports. It never quits apps, stops processes or deletes files. It may suggest what you could do, but anything you then do, like quitting an app, deleting files or clearing storage, is your decision and your responsibility. Back up anything important before deleting it.
Labels such as “possibly stuck”, “possibly left running” and “possibly forgotten” are estimates, not guarantees.
Culprit Pro
- Culprit Pro is a planned one-time purchase: $15, or $9 early bird for people on the beta list. The price shown at checkout is the one that applies. There is no subscription.
- Payments are taken by Blureon Labs through our payment provider, Dodo Payments, as Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments handles card data, taxes and invoices, and its terms apply to the payment itself.
- A Pro licence is for one person on 1 Mac, or on up to 3 Macs with a 3-Mac licence.
- Licence keys are personal. Don’t share, sell or publish them. We may revoke keys that are shared publicly, resold or charged back.
All Pro purchases are final and non-refundable once your licence key is delivered. See the refund policy.
No warranty
Culprit (free, beta and Pro) and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise Culprit will be error-free or that its readings will always be exact.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from using or being unable to use Culprit or this website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Culprit in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by contract.
Ending
You can stop using Culprit at any time by deleting it. We may end your licence if you break these terms; you must then stop using Culprit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, without taking away any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, email people on the beta list. If you keep using Culprit after a change, the new terms apply.
